Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser skin
resurfacing
The
centre has two resurfacing lasers the erbium and the carbon dioxide. Skin resurfacing
involves removal of ultrafine layers of the skin. The underlying collagen material is
heated and subsequently remodelled. Benefits include textural improvement, namely a
fresher and younger looking appearance, shrinkage of pores and removal of surface
blemishes. Fine wrinkles may be completely removed, coarser and deeper wrinkles
significantly improved. Laser resurfacing can effectively improve both acne and other
types of scars.
The erbium
laser is much gentler than the traditional carbon dioxide laser and light resurfacing of
areas such as the neck and hands produces significant skin freshening and rejuvenation in
areas not previously amenable to such treatment.
Maintenance of
results from laser resurfacing is important and the centre offers adjunctive treatments
such as CHEMICAL PEELING and ongoing home based skin care regimes such
as Biomedic.
