Notes At 4 months pos-op, elimination of 70% of fine rhytids and fair-to-good improvemnt of 80% of all deeper rhytids was seen. Skin returned to a more youthful appearance with a notable absence of scarring. Case Study 4: Surgical Scars78 Year old male presented after extensive skin cancer surgury and repair with a deforming surgical scar. Technique: The area was anaesthetised with local anaesthesia. The Sharplan CO2 laser was set at 19 Watts and the 6mm scan size was selected. Up to 4 complete passes were used to remould and resurface the scar with no thermal damage to the underlying or surrounding tissue. Total treatment time was 5 minutes.
Notes: At 3 months post-op, a dramatic improvement in the scar can be seen. |
